Her multidisciplinary background and diverse project experience, which ranges from residential and commercial development to state of the art convention centers, distinguishes her in the green building industry.

Jay Coalson

Principal
As president and CEO of GBS, Jay is responsible for the creation and on-going development of a progressive, employee-owned sustainable development consulting practice. This includes defining HR and business policies, developing business systems, financial management, strategic planning, marketing planning, sales planning and overall business administration, as well as managing the business development team and supporting efforts to identify and develop key business opportunities. Jay works closely with an employee board, as well as a professional advisory board to identify emerging market opportunities, and effectively structure business operations and business development to leverage these opportunities. He also works with the management team to oversee that efficient system and resources are in place to meet client objectives and seize new market opportunities. In addition, Jay coordinates with employee teams to define and continuously implement corporate employee well-being and sustainability initiatives.

Ralph is widely recognized for his ability to deliver high level green building strategies and forge effective working relationships among members of national and international project teams. His proven record of achieving clarity around green building objectives has enabled clients to implement the most meaningful and valuable solutions for their specific project.

Richard Manning

With twenty years of experience as a professional architect, Richard brings an expert understanding of the design and construction process. Over the last decade he has advised on a broad range of projects in the United States and Canada. Richard has overseen the successful certification effort of numerous projects representing each of the USGBC LEED® Rating System categories.

With twenty years of experience as a professional architect, Richard brings an expert understanding of the design and construction process. As a Principal and Project Consultant, Alan has been integral to making GBS one of the top green building consulting firms in the country. Alan’s passion for sustainability is evident in all aspects of his work, whether he is leading training workshops, providing technical assistance on projects, or helping clients find cost-effective solutions to achieve their green building goals. He has more than 22 years of professional experience and has been involved with numerous green building projects in the United States and Canada over the last fifteen years.
